1. Agreement to these terms
By installing or using Lan-Share, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app and uninstall it. These terms cover the Android app and the browser side of the transfer service that the app pairs with. The Lan-Share website publishes its own Terms of Use; where the two documents differ about the website itself, the website's terms apply to the website.
You must be old enough to consent to digital services in your country to use Lan-Share. If you are below that age, use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
2. Your licence to use Lan-Share
Coolqoo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Lan-Share on devices you control, for your own use, subject to these terms and to the Google Play terms that apply to the download.
You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows it, or use it to build a competing product.
3. Free app and Google Play
Lan-Share is free to download and free to use. Google Play distributes the app under Google's own terms and handles the listing, installation, and device compatibility checks. If Google Play's terms conflict with these terms on a point that concerns the store itself, Google Play's terms apply to that point.
There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no paid tier required to use the app's transfer features. Your mobile or broadband provider may charge for the data your transfers use.
4. No advertising
Lan-Share does not include an advertising SDK and does not show ads. Coolqoo does not sell advertising space in the app, and the app does not request the Google advertising identifier for advertising purposes.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Lan-Share to:
- transfer unlawful, harmful, infringing, abusive, or malicious material, including malware;
- transfer files you have no right to send, or that violate someone else's privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights;
- overload, scan, probe, exploit, or bypass the security controls of the service, or interfere with another person's transfer;
- use the service as backup, archival, or guaranteed-delivery infrastructure, or for automated bulk distribution;
- access a transfer session you were not invited to join.
6. Your files
You keep all rights to the files you send through Lan-Share. Coolqoo does not claim ownership of them and does not use them for any other purpose than carrying out the transfer you request.
You are responsible for the files you choose to send, for the device you pair with, and for confirming that the receiver has downloaded a file successfully. Keep your own copy of any important file until delivery is confirmed on the other device.
7. How transfers work
Lan-Share is built for one-to-one transfers between your own devices or between you and someone you choose to pair with. Transfers depend on browser support, network conditions, firewall behaviour, and the local network connection, so a transfer can fail or need to be retried, sometimes on a different network.
The service is a transfer tool, not storage. Do not treat a completed transfer as a durable copy of a file, and do not rely on the service where a failed or delayed delivery would cause serious loss.
If you use Lan-Share for business, regulated, or audited work, check for yourself whether it meets your compliance, retention, and record-keeping requirements before you rely on it.
8. Pairing codes and security
A pairing code or QR code is intended only for the person or device you choose to pair with. Do not post a code publicly, share it in an open channel, or reuse one you think someone else may have seen. You are responsible for the security of the devices and networks you transfer over.
Coolqoo may add, change, rate-limit, or remove connection features to protect the service and its users.
9. Third-party services
Lan-Share relies on Google Play for distribution and may rely on services operated by Google or by Coolqoo to pair devices and carry a transfer. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and Coolqoo does not control third-party services.
10. Privacy
Lan-Share privacy practices are described on the Lan-Share website at lan-share.com/privacy, which covers the browser service and the Android app together. It is a separate document from these terms.
11. Availability and changes
Coolqoo may update, suspend, rate-limit, or discontinue parts of Lan-Share to maintain reliability and security, and may stop distributing the app. Some features depend on your Android version, your network, and browser capabilities on the other device, and may not work in every environment.
Nothing in these terms obliges Coolqoo to keep any particular feature or transfer path available indefinitely.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, Lan-Share is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Coolqoo does not warrant that a transfer will complete, that a file will arrive intact, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or right that the law of your country of residence does not allow to be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Coolqoo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, profit, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Lan-Share, including a failed, interrupted, or incomplete transfer.
Because Lan-Share is provided free of charge, Coolqoo's total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here reduces mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
14. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling Lan-Share. Coolqoo may suspend or end your access to the service if you materially breach these terms or use it in a way that harms Coolqoo, other users, or third parties.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including sections 6, 7, 12, and 13, continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
Coolqoo may update these terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, Coolqoo will present it in the app or on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lan-Share after an update means you accept the updated terms.
